How do you select the right preschool for your child?
Maple lawn Montessori welcomes any family looking for a preschool for their child/children. We offer daily tours to the families.

Tell us a little bit about the in-person school tour?
We try to gauge and understand the needs of the parents which helps us explaining those key points during the tour. During the time of the tour, we take utmost time explaining the process and the daily routine by giving them a tour of our school. The parents get to meet and greet the experienced staff, can interact with the teachers, take a closer look at the classroom, understanding the Montessori materials and the functioning of the classroom. and show them all about our school makes the process of selecting our school that will best suit their child/children
How will I be informed of my child’s progress?
Maple lawn Montessori uses a mobile application for communications, it is simple and literally acts as a text message to the teacher or vice versa to know more about the child.
We also encourage the traditional method of setting up a time to meet with the teacher before or after teaching hours. If you have concerns or just want to know about what your child is doing in the classroom, don’t hesitate to set up an appointment.
Maple lawn Montessori offers parent-teacher conference twice a year, one in January and the second at the end of the year. That would be the best time to find out all about the child’s growth and progress.
What is the Teacher Student Ratio?
Our teacher - student ratios are:
Infant classroom (6 weeks – 18 Months) : 1 Teacher - 4 Students
Toddler Program (18 months – 3 years) : 1 Teacher – 8 Students
Primary Program (3 years – 6 years) : 1 Teacher – 10 Students
Although we can go up to 14 students per teacher in our primary classroom, we would like to keep it at a comfortable ratio.
Does your school operate all year around?
Maplelawn Montessori is a Montessori preschool that helps families by keeping the school open throughout the year. We observe the Federal holidays and is shut for a week during Christmas and a week during the county Spring break.
Do you have summer camp?
Maple lawn Montessori’s summer camp is something that the parents look forward too. It caters to children from 2 years to 12 years of age.
We have a lot of returning school age children who love the summer camp activities which involve going to the parks, museums since the nation’s capital is at a driving distance and the children can explore different kinds of museums. We also have varied talents coming in to entertain the children and at the same time keep those learning minds alert.
How much play time do the children get in a day?
In our Montessori school, our children get about 2-3 hours of play time which includes morning social interaction, playground time for two 30 minutes and evening social interaction time. The children who get dropped off before 9 AM and who are in the school after 5 PM are interacting, playing with other children and with stem toys. The children get about an hour of playground time spilt into 2 half hour sessions.

How to Enroll
Welcome to Maplelawn Montessori, Sterling branch. We believe that early childhood education sets the foundation for a lifetime of learning. We are thrilled that you are interested in enrolling your child in our program! Here is a simple and step-by-step enrollment process:
A. School Tour
Plan and set up a tour with the school office. You will receive basic school information at that time and experience all the available facilities. Get clarifications for all your questions.
B. Submit Application with enrollment fee
Once you've decided to enroll your child at Maplelawn Montessori Sterling branch, you'll need to fill out an application form. The application form asks for basic information about your child, such as their name, age, and any special needs they may have. Get enrollment form by clicking the below button.
C. Select a Start Date
Once you have decided the date of starting shcool for your child, check with us for availability of space. If space is available, pay the requisite fee and provide necessary documentaion (you can download necessary forms here). On completing these steps, your child is ready to start the school.
